Okay so it’s not Valentine’s Day anymore, but too bad because we have some adorable Galentine’s brunch inspiration to share with you! Check out the full feature over on The Perfect Palette!
The lovely ladies at Jack & Grace Events asked if I’d help collaborate on a little brunch styled shoot for our gal pals to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Of course I said YES! I love celebrating Valentine’s with my girlfriends, I’ve never been much of one for the sappy romantic holiday that’s (dare I say) mostly a marketing ploy anyway. We have an awesome group of girls that gets together pretty regularly – we’re all creatives, entrepreneurs, small business owners – and what better way to celebrate those friendships than with a girly brunch party? They each contributed their talents to create this amazing setup!
I helped with some details for the brunch tablescape but my baby was the dessert table. We pulled the shoot together in just a few short days so I ended up making the cake myself (yay for my sweet friend Erica O’Brien’s tutorial!) I went with an ombré pink on the cake to complement the three shades of pink glaze on the donuts and three pinks of the macarons. Mixing complementing colors, textures, heights, and patterns really helps to add interest and fun to any setup so that’s exactly what we did here.
You might have spotted the confetti poppers that we had too… Those suckers DEFINITELY got popped open inside and it was so fun! While we don’t have photographic proof, sometimes it’s those fun, un-captured, down-to-earth moments together with girlfriends that mean the most. Then we got to kick back and relax after a full morning of setting up to eat delicious food topped off with the sweet treats from the dessert bar!
