That’s right folks, I’m officially calling 2015 and 2016 the Great Balloon Revival. I mean, there’s always been that something about balloons. They’re magically magnetic and irresistible, amiright? What little kid’s heart (and grown-up kid for that matter!) doesn’t flutter a little when they see fun balloons and then get to have one as their own?! Okay maybe everyone isn’t a balloon sucker like me, but balloons are making a MAJOR comeback right now. It’s about time they finally break out of their Fourth of July, balloon animal, twisty arch mold!! Maybe I’m just obsessed with balloons because I used to work at a pediatrician’s office and it was part of my job as a receptionist to blow up any color balloon the patient asked for and tie it off with a curly ribbon. The joy on those little munchkins faces was too irresistible and made me over the moon for balloons too!
Anyway, enough ranting about my fond memories. Below I’ve pulled a few of my favorite ways and aspects of how balloons are being creatively and tastefully incorporated into modern events. I can’t get enough of the creative uses for balloons now and love how they can even be used as an economical floral replacement. Plus, a lot of these balloon creations don’t even require helium!! But the best part about the balloon revival is how versatile balloons are now from cost (tiny balloons cost basically nothing!) to colors (all the colors of the wind!) to glam level (kid birthdays all the way to weddings!) I don’t think I used enough exclamation points there… Right. Back to the content.
- TEXTURES. Balloons themselves bring texture to any display, but when the balloon sizes are mixed and then throw in some other textures like tassels, greenery, florals, and paper to make it that much more of a visual punch!
- GARLANDS. Like the kind that hangs off the jumbo balloons. Greenery, florals, tassels, you name it and it can be garland-ed.
- PATTERNS. Marbled balloons. Decoupaged balloons. DONUT BALLOONS. Yes, yes and more yes.
- ARCHES. I know I know, I said that arches were the OLD balloon use, but you’ll get why these arches are so much better and are totally worth featuring!
Well, what are you waiting for?! Get to using those balloons creatively!
